Compare the actual learning experience, not just the price.

Find the real fee unit

Two course prices are only comparable if they buy roughly the same thing. Is a published amount per participant, per class, per day or for a complete assessment pathway? Is tax included? Is a required theory test separately charged? A low headline price may cover only lectures, while another price includes supervised flight practice and assessment.

Write each price beside its source URL and the date you checked it. Use 'not published' rather than zero when the provider has no visible fee.

Ask what is included

Request a written list of training hours, expected aircraft time, class size, training equipment, materials, assessment fees, repeat attempts and certification or licensing-related expenses. Travel, accommodation, equipment deposits and rescheduling charges may change the overall cost.

If a provider states 'five days,' ask how many hours are instruction and how much practical control time is available to each learner. Five days of mixed classroom and group activity is not five days of personal flight time.

Separate outcomes from marketing

Course completion, assessment preparation, competency recognition and legal flight authorisation are different outcomes. Ask the provider to name the exact certificate and issuing party, and whether it prepares you for an external process rather than granting it directly.

Verify official regulatory status against the current authority source when an approval claim is relevant. Logos and testimonials are not substitutes for the regulator’s record.

Compare with a total-cost sheet

Create a table with course name, country, duration, published fee, tax, exam fee, individual practical time, class size, prerequisites, cancellation terms and source status. Leave blanks where evidence is missing and send the same questions to all shortlisted providers.

A transparent provider may be a better choice than the cheapest advertised one. Decide using the course’s fit with your goal and the completeness of its verified facts—not an unsupported 'best academy' badge.
